We adopted our first little black cat Grace (formerly Eunice) on Halloween! She starting running and playing the moment she moved in, and hasn’t stopped! Because she had so much energy, we adopted another kitten to keep her company. Winnie (formerly Wendy) joined our family in mid-December. Winnie is very shy with people, but LOVES her new sister. However, it wasn’t love at first sight. Grace (all 3 pounds of her) growled at Winnie once or twice initially, but now they are inseparable. Grace and Winnie have the run of the house and are maniacs! A total of 9 pounds between the two of them, they chase each other back and forth on the second floor all night long. It sounds like a herd of buffalo at times, but it makes us smile. I don’t remember ever having that much energy or enthusiasm!! Grace and Winnie join our two other cats – MK (a stray my husband found by his office building last June), and Wilson (adopted 11 years ago), and Max, a dog (adopted 8 years ago). Grace and Winnie are great additions to the family. We love them to bits, and it’s been so much fun watching them play, and explore new things.
