Hi Lisa & Karen – Wanted to update you on how Ryan is doing….WONDERFUL!!!!! He stayed in the den, his safe room, until Tuesday @ 6PM. We’d brought Matthew in a couple of times, holding him of course, so they each knew another cat was in the house. We’d hold the door to the den open a crack so they each could sniff the other. When he came out on Tuesday they hissed once and that was it. They’ve a routine now of running around the house @ 4:30AM, all the while Ryan is “talking” up a storm and Matthew is answering back. Each of them have taken up their own perches on the front windows and view the birds each morning. Needless to say they’re both atwitter with excitement. My husband says Ryan follows him around all day long. He goes up in Charlie’s office and loves to stretch out on his desk while Charlie’s working, or I should say trying to work.
Between Ryan being a distraction and Charlie giving him lots of attention during the day it’s a struggle sometimes to stay focused on work I’m sure. We’re ALWAYS talking to the cats so he hears his new name a lot. We’d planned on our youngest son, Jonathan, picking out the cat with us but we fell in love with Ryan so quickly that there wasn’t any time for him to come along. He chose Ronny Mac’s new name so he certainly is a special cat to all of us. We’ve already had him checked out at the vets and they’ve all his shot records and micro-chip info. You were so right Lisa, Ryan’s a WONDERFUL cat. Whenever we saw his picture and the description we just knew he’d be similar to our Randall. Once you’ve had a cat that wants human interaction (& Randall certainly did, he ALWAYS slept on the couch while we’d be watching tv or was in the kitchen with us, or slept on our bed…you name it Randall was around us all the time) you can’t think of any other cat to have. We were blessed with Randall in our life for 12 years and look forward to growing old along with Ryan. We can’t thank you enough for all you and Kitty Connection do for all the cats just waiting for a forever home. It was so nice to meet you and your husband. Please be sure to let him know Ryan has adjusted well and is a much loved member of our family already. Sincerely,
Dolores
