My name is Joonyor and I’m a big, lovable boy, three to five years old. My name is pronounced “Junior,” but it’s spelled differently because Kitty Connection already had another cat named Junior. However, cats seldom care about spelling. Junior was adopted, and I hope I will be, too. My fosters think I’m wonderful, and I’m starting to believe it myself. If you pet me, you’ll hear my expressive, operatic purr, and a belly rub will get you an extended performance. People say I’m handsome because of my majestic tiger markings and four white feet, which make it look like I’m wearing athletic shoes. When my fosters got me, I was absolutely miserable from being dumped. Because they were patient with me, I’ve shown how great I can be, but we also sense that the best is yet to come.
I get stressed when I’m around other cats I don’t know, and when I’m put into a carrier. Neither of these will prevent me from being a wonderful companion, but it doesn’t work for me to go to adoption events, so I must be seen at my foster home in Melrose. Regarding being around other cats, at I simply couldn’t handle it at all, but I’ve improved considerably being around four cats (all rescued, of course) and several others they are fostering. I’ve progressed from being completely hostile to other cats to peacefully coexisting with them (although with an occasional growl, but nothing more hostile than that), lying inches away from them, and even playing with them sometimes. If you have another cat, my fosters can tell you how to successfully introduce us to each other.
I’m more of a people cat, though. I greet my fosters at the door when they return. I sometimes follow them around the house. I love to play with string, and I’m comical when chasing a laser pointer. I would be OK with kids as long as they’re not too loud or hyper. A kid who would want to sleep with me would be great.
Otherwise, I’m pretty low-maintenance. I prefer dry food, and love treats from a pouch. If you adopt me, I’ll be your devoted friend for the rest of my life.
I have a reduced adoption fee and my fosters will even throw in the soft cat bed shown in the picture so I’ll have a familiar place to sleep in my new home. If you’re the kind of animal lover who roots for the underdog (or undercat), then I would be great for you.
