Many pit bulls are in need of homes. They along with chihuahuas are the number one euthanized dogs. There are many great pit bulls that deserve a chance at having a home. Most do not do well in pound settings, and it costs them their lives. If you are in the market for a pit bull, please consider participating in Kitty Connection’s “Homes for Pits” program.
Sometime taking dogs from shelters makes room for dogs in the pound. You can help by adopting or fostering one of these dogs. Fostering is great because you save a dog and also can see if it is the right fit for you. All families have different requirements for dogs. Fostering will let you know if the dog travels well, loves hiking, enjoys going to work with you, is a great family dog, etc. There are sometimes non-pit bulls that need help so get on board for small dogs in need and non bully breed dogs. Together we can make a difference. Encouraging people to spay and neuter will help stop the overpopulation of unwanted pets that are put down each day.
