Hi! My Name Is Deebo!!!
About Me
I am an eye-catching, unbelievably handsome and super intelligent gentleman.
When you first see me, you may be intimidated by my strong, muscular build….but give me a chance because I am a lovable boy who is gentle, sensitive, and wants nothing more than to be with (and please) my humans. People describe me as a cross between a Tank and a Teddy Bear! There are many sides to my personality. There is the Deebo who loves to go for long walks, the Deebo who loves to jog alongside my human, and then there is the Deebo who loves to snuggle with my human and nap for hours on end. I am an inquisitive man who is always up for a new adventure, but am far happier to stay home and enjoy my family.
My first priority is my family. I love to be with them, to please them, and to protect them. I am extremely attentive and affectionate to my humans. Sometimes I am not aware of my size, and often find myself curled up on your lap like I am a 7-lb cat! I am a gentleman who greets strangers in a gentle, tail-wagging fashion. I grew up with small children, so I am VERY good with them! I would do best in a home without cats, though with the right training I may be able to acclimate to living with them. I may benefit from living with another dog who could keep me company while our humans are away from home. I have a heart of gold, am extremely sensitive, extremely affectionate, and will accept all the love you could possibly give to me — and I will give you an ABUNDANCE of love in return!!! I really enjoy when my Mom puts her face next to mine, talks softly, pats my head, rubs my neck, hugs me, and gives me kisses. It relaxes me, makes me feel safe, and I like to give her kisses while she does this.
My Challenges
The challenges I face are being extremely sensitive and afraid of being alone and/or confined. I do not like loud conversations very much. When I hear people talking loudly, or yelling, I go and hide and won’t come out until I know the “coast is clear” and things have settled down. If you yell at me directly, I will cower and shake. To make me feel most comfortable, I would prefer a home that is on the quieter side, and with someone who will be gentle with me. When my humans go away from the house, and leave me home alone, I get frightened. I also do not like to be confined in small spaces. I like to go into my crate, but only if the door is left open. Closing the door tends to freak me out. I suffer from an anxiety issue and could use some help with this. I also have a restricted diet due to food allergies – I am allergic to chicken, duck, and turkey.
