I am a 12 year old stray, who ran up to a kitty connection volunteer looking for help, I'm in pretty rough shape. I was taken to Vet for immediate medical care because I was so emaciated and matted. This morning my foster mom found me very lethargic and unresponsive. I was rushed to the hospital, they want to keep me overnight to stabilize me and do some more blood work. my previous blood workup thought I was a diabetic, but I am not a diabetic. I could have some internal bleeding from parasites, and I am very anemic from all my flea bites from being outside, the hospital feels they can get me back on my feet and need to do additional blood work up to dig deeper into my condition. They would also like to keep me overnight so they could monitor me and treat me with IV fluids to get me strong and on my feet again, they'd like to do an ultrasound, but that will be determined by how much money we raise. Low end $3000 high-end 3700. Please help me if you can. ** I believe in things happen for a reason. This beautiful cat that was once a pet, LITERALLY walked up to a volunteer that was taking a walk and asked for help. The universe brought them together. I’m Ruby! A fluffy, petite, playful, and SUPER s I’m Ruby! A fluffy, petite, playful, and SUPER soft calico who’s around 1½ years old and a total sweetheart! I love to cuddle, play, birdwatch, and constantly reposition myself when I’m with you. Sometimes I’ll plop over onto your lap like a fainting goat, and other times I stretch and roll a litttttle too far and fall off like those funny cats on the internet. If I hear even the slightest jingle, I’ll come bolting over ready to play! In addition to anything with a bell, I also love (destroying) feather wands and go coo-coo for catnip. 😈 Prepare to be entertained. 🎪 While I strutted out of my carrier with confidence, I needed several days to build up the courage to explore the rest of the home. It was VERY important for me to have my own space where I felt safe and secure to adjust on my own terms. #trustissues 🧐 Like finding my mojo, I was also slow to warm up to the resident cat. Fortunately, and contrary to early indications, it turns out I don’t need to be an only cat, but I do require a longer-than-usual introduction period in order to co-exist peacefully. Now I’m a curious, bold explorer eager to soak up all of your pets and attention and willing to tolerate roommates. ✨Patience is a virtue.✨ Speaking of fellow residents, I think I could do well (and even thrive) in a home with young kids, so long I’m given the chance to acclimate at my own pace. Else I might remain timid and out of sight (which would be a total shame because I have a GREAT personality to share with the world!). Additionally, and one of the more off-brand things about me, is that despite how much I love to snuggle and wander freely across your lap (and laptop), I detest being picked up #boundaries 🚫. Perhaps I’ll feel differently one day, but until then, proceed at your own risk! ⚠️😹 I’m a very respectful guest: using my litter box, keeping my coat clean, admiring plants from afar, and limiting my “re-decorating” efforts to the yoga mat (which in my defense was laid out for me). The long curtains (perfect for scaling FYI) have remained surprisingly resilient. If given the opportunity, I’d probably do a number to a window screen if I saw a bird on the other side. 😇

I’m Stella, a sweet and quiet two-year-old girl kitty. I love gentle playtimes and get along great with other cats, though dogs aren’t really my cup of tea, because they scare me. I’m living happily with children right now, thanks to my super gentle nature. I can be a little shy at first, hiding away, but just give me a little time, and I’ll be peeking out, curious and ready for some cuddles. Oh, and I a-d-o-r-e being picked up for snuggles—I’m a purring machine once I’m in your arms! Just a heads-up, I was diagnosed with FIV and heartworm, but don’t let that worry you.
