Polly, a senior calico girl, was discovered under some bushes in a backyard. The property owner was kind enough to ask for Kitty Connection’s help.
When Polly was rescued, she was in deplorable condition. Her fur was so matted that she had to be shaved because she was so uncomfortable. The poor creature had been living in her own filth, because she was unable to groom herself due to her matted fur. Her claws were completely curled, growing back into her toes, making it extremely painful to walk. Her rescuers thought she may have been injured because she was so listless and could barely walk. Her ears were filled with mites which constantly itched. It is not clear whether her owners neglected her or she was thoughtlessly abandoned. She definitely had a home once because, even in her condition, she loved having her head and neck scratched, purring with approval! After a visit to the vet, where she received fluids for a few days and had her nails trimmed, and getting all cleaned up, Polly (nicknamed for her huge poly-dactyl paws) has come a long way. She is a super sweet, senior girl who needs and deserves to be loved (and pampered) for the rest of her life.
