Misty

Hi! I’m Misty, a healthy, 1-year-old bicolor (gray & white) female! Because of my young age, I have all my kitten energy. I’m a great mouser who loves chasing toys and is very good at keeping myself busy. I’m an independent young girl who does not mind company as long as it’s not children, cats, or dogs. My foster mom thinks I will do great in a home with a career-oriented person who would like some feline companionship.

Because of my age and temperament, it will take me at least 2 weeks to familiarize myself with my new household. During the time that I’m familiarizing myself with your new place, it would be great if you left me alone since I will be stressed in my new environment.

My foster mom observed that once I had time, I was able to relax and enjoy the finer things in life, like finding a comfortable high place near the window to watch the world go by and occasionally butting my head against my foster mom’s knee to let her know that I missed her. While I’m not the most affectionate cat and definitely not a lap cat, I have been known to sit next to my foster mom on the couch and lean my head against her.

Known quirks:
I don’t really meow much; I trill. My foster mom has only heard me meow three times; all in the car. Otherwise, I like to make this trilling sound when I play with my toys.
Maybe due to my young age, I think fingers and toes are toys. My foster mom doesn’t appreciate it, but I like to pounce on her toes every morning around 5am.
I LOVE the laser pointer and mouse-shaped toys. Those are the only toys I really like.
I’m a very curious cat. I will try to get into anything I can. If I can fit, I’ll make an attempt.
I only eat dry food (Purina One Chicken & Turkey).
I go gaga for fried chicken. My foster mom has no idea why.
If you are interested in meeting with me, my foster mom lives in Davis Square, Somerville, and is totally willing to show me off most weekends between 10-12 or by appointment.

I have been
– spayed.
– vaccinated against rabies and distemper.
– tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
– examined by a vet.

My adopter will receive my medical records.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. If you can and will commit to me and provide me a safe, loving home for life, then respond to michelle.s.beard@gmail.com.
