Big Oreo (Courtesy Post)

Oreo is a big, friendly tuxedo boy, about seven-eight years old, who lost his home when the elderly person who meant the world him went into a nursing home.  No friend or family member was willing to give this poor guy a home.  Despite going through this loss, he is friendly and responds to petting with a warm purr– everyone in our vet’s office commented on how friendly he was, as he kept purring even through his vaccination.  His foster mom says he’s a mix of affection and independence.  Oreo would do best in an interactive home where he would not be left unaccompanied for long periods of time.  He has not been observed with other cats, dogs or kids, but he seems likely to be able to do well with kids who know how to treat cats respectfully.  Oreo’s easy-going personality suggests that he is an easy cat who would probably be suitable for a first-time adopter.

Oreo has been:

– neutered

– given rabies and distempers

– tested negative for FeLV and FIV

– treated for worms and fleas

– determined to be healthy by our vet

His adopter will receive his medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee to help his rescuer continue to help cats in need.  Because the world does not beat a path to middle-aged cats, Oreo’s fee has been reduced to a mere $125– a bargain for a new best friend who will love you for the rest of his life.  He’s being fostered in Somerville.

Unless otherwise noted in the above description, Kitty Connection cats have been:

– spayed or neutered
– vaccinated against rabies and distemper
– tested negative for FIV and FeLV
– examined by a vet

Adopters will receive their medical records.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. If you can and will commit to providing a safe, loving home for life, then please submit a pre-adoption application.
