Piper is a big, friendly, black-and-white boy, about four years old, who needs a home. This dashing, elegant, affectionate tuxedo gentleman is very friendly and responds to petting with an enthusiastic purr. Piper is a social boy who would do best in a home where he will get lots of attention and where he will not be left alone for long periods of time. He appears to get along with most (but not all) other cats. We have not observed him with dogs or kids, but he seems likely to be able to do well with kids who know how to treat cats respectfully. His fur and large size show him to be a Maine coon mix. Piper’s personality suggests that he is an easy cat who would probably be suitable for a first-time adopter.
Piper is diabetic, so he needs insulin shots and a low-carb diet. The shots are so easy to administer that cats usually don’t even notice the injections due to the tiny size of the needles, and are easy to administer even for a novice. Due to the recent decrease in the price of insulin, it tends to be affordable– about the equivalent of an extra can of food per day. He will come with his remaining supply.
Piper has been:
– neutered
– given rabies and distempers shots
– tested negative for FeLV and FIV
– treated for worms and fleas
His adopter will receive his medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee that has been discounted to a mere $25– a bargain for a new best friend who will love you for the rest of his life. He’s being fostered in Boston.
Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time.
