If there were a contest for World’s Friendliest Cat, sweet, playful two-year-old Lincoln would surely be a contender. He is a sleek, energetic, social boy who loves to interact with people, so he should be adopted into a home where he will get lots of play time and not be unaccompanied for long periods of time. We have not observed him with kids, dogs, or other cats; we suspect he’d do well with the right one if introduced methodically. (We can give pointers on this.) We think he would do well with kids who know how to treat cats respectfully. Lincoln is very interactive and affectionate, and, while not always a lap cat, will come sit on your lap from time to time and loves to sleep in the bed with his human at night. His foster mom describes Lincoln as a perfect gentleman, an easy cat who would be an excellent choice for a first-time adopter.
Lincoln has been:
– neutered
– vaccinated against rabies and distemper
– tested negative for FeLV and FIV
– treated for worms and fleas
– examined and determined to be healthy by a vet
Lincoln has a food allergy that requires him to be fed hypoallergenic prescription food. It is not expensive, about the same price as high-end cat food purchased at pet-supply stores. He also has a blocked tear duct that sometimes results in eye discharge, but does not require treatment beyond eye wipes. He also needs weekly ear drops. He’s an easy-going boy, so all of these are easy.
His adopter will receive his medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. He’s being fostered in Boston’s Back Bay area.
Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. If you can and will commit to him and provide a safe, loving home for life, then respond to RoyCBarrows@gmail.com. Please include your phone number for a faster response and say a little about yourself and the home you would provide for him as we try to match people with the right cats.
