Lucas

Hi! I’m Lucas 🐈‍⬛, a handsome, heavy-set (currently down to 14.7lbs), big-pawed, 8.5 year old tuxedo and gentle giant who coexists pleasantly with other cats. My current roommates include a rambunctious 2-year-old male tabby and 5-year-old “foster fail” Winsta, who is still deciding how she feels about me.

I was really nervous and shy the first few days in my new foster home, and very grateful for my safe room. Since then, I’ve turned into a total clinger who loves to be near his people! I even sleep in bed with them every night, preferring to take up their entire pillow (but only if it’s positioned where their head is supposed to go!).

As I’ve gained confidence, I’ve enjoyed lounging on all the different window sills, dining chairs, papasan, sofas, and beds in the apartment, but I’ve also become more playful! Fetching my own plush mice, joining in on the wand toy action, and chasing the laser pointer — I might seem like an old man, but I still have some spunk in me!

While I haven’t sat down on any laps, I do enjoy sharing the bed, couch, and chair with my foster parents and I LOVE being pet. I’ll be sure to head butt you for more when you seem like you’re done. I also tolerate the brush quite well.

While I’m completely unbothered by other cats, I really cherish my people and would do best with someone who’s home most of the day if they don’t have any other pets to keep me company.

My foster parents aren’t sure how I am around young kids, but to date, I’ve showed zero signs of aggression — you can rub my belly, touch my paws, and pick me up (though you might need to be able to bench press a certain amount for that). They think I’d be okay with older, calmer dogs, but expect my adjustment period would take a little longer.

Unless otherwise noted in the above description, Kitty Connection cats have been:

– spayed or neutered
– vaccinated against rabies and distemper
– tested negative for FIV and FeLV
– examined by a vet

Adopters will receive their medical records.
