Rusty

Hi, I’m Rusty, a male 3 year old and I’m loving being an indoor cat
now with all the warm and soft places! I have discovered the joy of
couches, beds, and the chair you want to sit on. I love to watch the
birds in the bird feeders and play with my toys, my favorites being
strings, balls, and a stuffed bunny.  My foster family loves it when I
rub on their legs and purr for attention. I enjoy sitting on laps if
invited, family movie nights are my favorite. I spend a lot of the day
on my kitty couch in my fort, but love to hang out with my people too
while they work and check in regularly. I am the most purry cat my
foster family has had in years, I can turn it on loud mode when I want
something.

It’s important to know that I’ve tested positive for Feline Leukemia
Virus (FeLV). What this means for me is this can affect my immune
system and makes me more susceptible to getting sick.  This doesn’t
mean that I can’t have a beautiful happy life, but it can mean that my
lifespan can be shorter than non FeLV cats. FeLV is contagious to
other cats, so I am looking for a home with no other cats or other
FeLV friends. It is not contagious to other animals or humans. I think
I would enjoy another FeLV+ friend, but if I had people around a lot
of the day I’d be happy too. Sometimes I can get a little overexcited,
so I’d do best in a house without small children.

Rusty’s favorite toy is his stuffed bunny. He likes to chase it, kick it, and carry it around!

Unless otherwise noted in the above description, Kitty Connection cats have been:

– spayed or neutered
– vaccinated against rabies and distemper
– tested negative for FIV and FeLV
– examined by a vet

Adopters will receive their medical records.
